A guide to using Sparkze

Overview

Q: Can I unmatch someone?

A: Yes. Unfollowing a user is equivalent to unmatching. Go to their profile and press ‘Unfollow.’ They will no longer be able to contact you.

Q: How do I block or report someone?

A: Tap the 3 bars on the top right corner of their profile. This will prompt a drop-down menu showing the 'block' and ‘report’ button.

Q: How do I message someone?

A: Sparkze users who have indicated a mutual interest (followed each other) will be able to chat in the Connection Center.

Q: Can I share someone’s profile?

A: Yes, on the top right of their profile, there are 3 bars, tap that and use the ‘share’ button to send a link to another user.

Q: Can I search for a specific person on Sparkze?

A: On Sparkze, you are not able to search for a specific person. Your feed will be filtered based on your selected preferences. Users will be able to discover others on the feed, in our game shows, and users who have indicated a mutual interest in one another will be able to chat in the Connection Center.

Q: What is the After Party?

A: After each game, the host, players, and the audience all enter the After Party - where you can tap on any person, view their profile and have the ability to follow them.

Q: What is the Message Center?

A: The Connection Center is where users are able to message and send icebreaker questions to others who have indicated a mutual interest (followed one another).

Q: What is the Feed?

A: Our feed shows you other users on the app that match your selected preferences.

Q: What is the Game Center?

A: The Game Center is a feature in the Sparkze app that allows users to play and interact with others nearby through interactive video Game Shows. Games can either be played or watched.

Q: Is there a minimum age requirement?

A: Yes, the minimum age requirement is 18 years old.

Q: Can I use Sparkze anywhere in the world?

A: Sparkze is currently available for the U.S. only.

Q: Is Sparkze free?

A: Sparkze is completely free.

Q: Which platforms and devices can I use Sparkze on?

A: Sparkze is currently available online at sparkze.app and supports iOS version 15 and up.

Q: What is Sparkze?

A: Sparkze introduces you to others who live around your area in a fun and unique way with live video game shows like Truth or Dare, hosted by influencers – all without the pressure of meeting IRL.

Q: How do I edit my profile

A: Tap the profile icon > tap “Edit My Profile” Here you are free to edit your name, location, and about me.

Q: How can I set or change my preferences?

A: Tap the 3 bars on the top right corner of your profile. This will prompt a drop-down menu showing the 'preferences' button.

Q: How can I become an affiliate influencer/host?

A: Email us at influencers@sparkze.app or message us at @sparkzefly on all social platforms.

Q: Using an affiliate link

A: Influencers will each receive an affiliate link, which is a personalized tracking link, in order to promote Sparkze on other channels and platforms.

Q: How do I view upcoming Sparkze games?

A: Open the Sparkze app, tap the “Games” icon. Under “Events,” there will be a list of all upcoming games along with the date, time, and host. You can also press “Notify Me” to be notified when your chosen event is about to start!

Q: How do I watch a past game?

A: Past games are posted in the Game Center.

Q: What are the game rules?

A: Each player has 15 seconds to introduce themselves. Each game has 3 rounds. First player taps ”Truth or Dare.” The active player will have 30 seconds to perform the “Truth or Dare.” Other participants are able to react out loud, while watchers are able to send emojis to convey their reaction.

Q: How do I host a game?

A: Open the Sparkze app, tap the “Games” icon, then press “Host A Game.”

Q: How do I play a game?

A: Each game will have its own rules and those rules will be explained during the game.

Q: How many players are needed to start a game?

A: To start a game, you will need 1 host and a minimum of 3 players.

Q: How do I report someone during a game?

A: Sparkze is a safe space. We have a zero tolerance policy of discrimination, bullying, and harassment. During a game, any of the players are able to report someone, additionally the host is able to block someone entirely. If someone in a game needs to be blocked, let your host know so that they can be removed right away.

Q: How can I invite my friends to play a game on Sparkze?

A: Friends who follow you on Sparkze will be notified and be given the opportunity to join you in a game.

Q: What games are available in the Game Center?

A: Currently, we have Truth or Dare available. But we will be announcing more games in the near future!

Q: What if I accidentally unmatched someone?

A: They will still show up in your feed, just watch for them and follow again.

Q: Can I delete a message?

A: On Sparkze, you are unable to delete individual messages. However, you can remove conversations from your inbox by unmatching (unfollowing) someone.

In your "Messages" tab, Sparkze users who have indicated a mutual interest (followed each other) will be able to chat.

Troubleshooting

Trouble with Login

App Crashing

We realize app crashes are frustrating! Here are several troubleshooting suggestions to try:

  • Confirm that you have a strong internet connection

  • Update Sparkze to the latest version

  • Delete and reinstall the Sparkze app.

My account was banned

We ban accounts when we detect activity that may violate our Community Guidelines. Sparkze is a safe space and we do not take violations of our guidelines lightly. Please email info@sparkze.app to start an appeal process.

Blocking and reporting

Click on the user’s profile that you would like to block or report. Tap the 3 bars on the top right corner of their profile. Click ‘Block’ or ‘Report.’ Sparkze is a safe space. I can’t log in to my account

At the login screen, press ‘Forgot Password.’ Proceed with necessary security steps to regain access to your account.

Troubleshooting

Trouble with The Feed

I denied Sparkze access to my location

Exit out of the Sparkze app and go to your iPhone settings. Press ‘Privacy,’ then ‘Location Services.’ Scroll down till you see ‘Sparkze.’ Switch your access to ‘While Using the App.’

Profiles don’t match my personal preferences

Tap the 3 bars on the top right corner of your profile. This will prompt a drop-down menu showing the 'preferences' button. Filter to your desired personal preferences.

The profiles I see are far away

Sparkze is designed to show you profiles within your area. Tap the 3 bars on the top right corner of your profile. This will prompt a drop-down menu showing the 'preferences' button. Filter to your desired mile radius.

I’m seeing profiles I’ve already tapped through

At the moment, this is normal for the Sparkze feed! As we continue to grow, your feed will expand and you will see it less. Suggestion:

  • Expand your preferences to include “Everyone,” and your range to “No Limit”

I’m not seeing profiles in The Feed

We apologize for the inconvenience! Since we are a new app, there are a limited amount of users. Here are several troubleshooting suggestions to try:

  • Expand your preferences to include “Everyone,” and your range to “No Limit”

  • Confirm that you have a strong internet connection

  • Update Sparkze to the latest version

  • Delete and reinstall the Sparkze app

Trouble with My Profile and Settings

Trouble with account deletion

I can’t update my profile

Tapping the profile icon and clicking on “Edit My Profile” should give you the ability to update your profile. If your updated information is not saving, please consider these troubleshooting options: Confirm that you have a strong internet connection, update Sparkze to the latest version, delete and reinstall the Sparkze app.

My age or name is wrong

Easy fix! Tap the profile icon > tap “Edit My Profile.” Here you are free to edit your name and age.

Trouble with Matches and Messaging

No new matches

Sparking a connection can take some time and effort. Consider these tips to freshen up your profile and help you get noticed: Update your bio, upload high quality photos and videos to your account that show off who you are, or hop the Sparkze Game Center to either participate in or watch a game to meet some new faces and make a memorable impression.

My match/matches disappeared

The user you matched with mostly likely ended the match or deleted their Sparkze account.

I’m concerned about my or another user’s safe

If anyone is in immediate danger, please contact your local law enforcement for help immediately. To report a safety concern to us, please email us right away at sparkzefly@gmail.com.

Someone I know is being impersonated

Contact us sparkzefly@gmail.com with the following details: The reason for the report, the exact name, age, bio, and photos that appear on the profile that you are reporting (include screenshots if possible), and the user's location, phone number and email address if known. The more details you are able to provide, the quicker we can get the issue resolved. Lastly, click on the user’s profile and immediately click ‘Report.’

Contact us sparkzefly@gmail.com with the following details: The reason for the report, the exact name, age, bio, and photos that appear on the profile that you are reporting (include screenshots if possible), and the user's location, phone number and email address if known. Reporting something that happened on the app

Report in the app: Click on the user’s profile that you would like to report. Tap the 3 bars on the top right corner of their profile. Click ‘Report.’ Report via email: Safety is our top priority and we encourage users to immediately report any behavior that violates our Community Guidelines.
